Riffle Samplers, Grain Sample Dividers Density Baskets

LABAIDS® Riffle Sample Dividers are used for sampling aggregates, ores, refractory materials, pigments, powdered coal, soap, cement, pharmaceutical powders, grains, seeds etc.

It consists of a sheet metal box, mounted on legs and fitted with a series of chutes of equal width which discharge the material alternatively in opposite directions into separate pans. The chutes of the riffle are steep enough to allow rapid flowing of the material.

These riffle samplers are complete with two receivers and normally have 16 chutes of the desired width. Some common chute sizes are given below:

6.3mm, 12.7mm, 19mm, 25.4mm, 31.75mm, 38mm, 44.5mm, 50.8mm, 63.5mm, 76.2mm

Other sizes can also be made on request. These riffle samplers can also be made in Stainless Steel (for Food & Pharma industries) on special request.

The BOERNER TYPE Gravity Divider is made to meet F.C.I. and B.I.S. Requirements. Material flowing components are made by a special process to give the unit a smooth finish made without welding or joints. It is used to reduce the size of a grain / seed sample into two halves, each exactly representative of the original sample.

HOW IT WORKS:

To operate this device, a sample of grain is poured into the hopper and then released down into the cone which is directly under the center of the opening.

Around the base of the cone are 38 openings or pockets. The grain falling down the sides of the cone is cut into 38 separate streams, rejoining into two streams, which empties into the two pans for easy transport of divided samples.

The divider is calibrated to provide accuracy of 1 % between pans on a 1000 gm sample. The body and inner parts are made of copper and brass, eliminating the possibility of rust. The legs and supports are made from steel.
